They sound like naive techies, neophytes at corporate development. Willing to give up 33% to an outside CEO?! "Hello, let's go hire someone we don't even know if the VC's will like, and then screw up our corporate structure if they decide he isn't the right guy!" (And in 12-18 months, he won't be, anyway, so now you have to phase out someone with a 1/3rd founders share)
